GRIEF COUNSELLOR

Growing a life around grief refers to the process of navigating and incorporating grief into one’s life while still finding ways to grow, thrive, and find meaning.  It acknowledges that grief is not something that can simply be overcome or left behind but rather a lifelong companion that shapes our perspectives and experiences.  It involves accepting that grief is a part of our human experience and finding ways to honour and remember what has been lost while also finding a way to find joy, purpose and growth in the midst of sorrow. Don’t face your grief alone.  Our grief counseling services offer a safe and non-judgemental space where you’ll find a listening ear, empathy, and practical guidance to help you move forward at your own pace.

Research demonstrates again and again that the therapeutic relationship is the most reliable indicator for client success and satisfaction. That’s why I provide a free 30-minute meet-and-greet session to trial our connection.

Let me help you find your way back to health and wholeness.

  • In 2018, my Mom was diagnosed with glioblastoma at the age of 67. She lived nine months, six of which were spent in hospice care. Living 9 hours away, with a family of four young children I navigated this tremendous upheaval and grief journey as best as I could…which wasn’t great. It ignited a passion in me to learn more, to grow in my understanding of how to navigate this universal experience in a healthier way and with self-compassion. You don’t move on… you take grief with you and the life you build around it can still be beautiful…perhaps even more so. Leonard Cohen writes, “love is not a victory march, it’s a cold and it's broken hallelujah.” This lyric resonates so deeply for me, losing a loved one to death cannot be remedied, cannot be undone but we can move forward and reflect a beauty and grace that bears witness to not only our pain but our resilience and strength in rebuilding our lives one day at a time.
